Steven Frederic Seagal (born April 10, 1952) makes a cameo appearance as himself in the Season 9 episode of Roseanne titled "Roseambo" (episode #9) along with former Heavyweight Boxing Champion Mike Tyson and boxing promoter Don King. An action film actor, producer, writer, martial artist, guitarist and a reserve deputy sheriff. A 7th-dan black belt in aikido, Seagal began his adult life as an aikido instructor in Japan, Steven became the first foreigner to operate an aikido dojo in Japan. He later moved to the Los Angeles, California, area where he made his film debut in 1988 in Above the Law. He became a major action star due to his blockbuster films of the 1990s, such as Under Siege (1992) and Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995), where he played Navy SEALs counter-terrorist expert Casey Ryback, but since then starred mainly in direct-to-video action films.

Seagal appears on the FOx animated prime-time television series "The Simpson" as a fighting seals in the Arctic for killing a village's fish in "E. Peterbus Unum".

He also hosted NBC's Saturday Night Live (SNL) in 1991 where he was named the "worst host ever" to appear on the show (a fact that Lorne Michaels mentioned when Nicolas Cage hosted in two seasons later) due to his bad sketch ideas and inability to work with the cast and crew.
